So far, no two S-beam engine mounts have been exactly the same. They can differ in many ways. Variables include the distance from the prop flange to the fire wall, the amount (if any) of the thrust off-sets and where the radiators are located. Our solution is to design each engine mount for its specific installation.

Every S-beam engine mount is designed by Paul Lamar. This guarantees solid engineering. Most important, the 3D drawings show you exactly how your firewall forward installation will look. The drawings will reveal any problems and we can fix them before construction is started. Or, you could even see the design and decide that you don’t want to go ahead. There is no charge for Paul’s design work. It is done to support the rotary movement.

The following information is needed for the drawing.

1) Distance from the face of the prop flange to the firewall.

2) Location of the horizontal thrust line relative to the hard points on the firewall.

3) The distance from the vertical C/L to the center of the mounting bushings.

4) The distance from the upper bushings to the lower bushings

Usually this information is included in the plans. If it is not, it may be in our files or we can usually find a way to figure it out.
